Sam Hopkins

Sam Hopkins is a WA sculptor working from small, intimate pieces to large-scale public artwork. Hopkins explores the balance between human behaviour and nature, our impact and pushing the possibilities of material form. A process requiring heavy machinery and careful handwork merges man and machine.

Exhibited across Australia, his work is represented in many private, corporate and public collections, including Brookfield Properties, Mindaroo Foundation and the City of Melville. He has received multiple awards, including highlights such as the WA Sculpture Scholarship: Sculpture by the Sea Cottesloe, 2020, the Clitheroe Foundation Emerging Artists Mentor Program: Sculpture By The Sea, Bondi 2023, Best Artwork Award: Fine Art at Hale 2024 and the Emerging Artist Award: City of Rockingham Art Award' 2024.
