Dr. Mardi Crocker
Mardi Crocker (b. 1987) is a West Australian based painter and academic whose practice is primarily engaged with the exploration of the everyday through a focus on unremarkable and overlooked objects and the genre of still life painting.
Crocker graduated from Curtin University with a BA of Fine Art with First Class Honours in 2014, and completed her Doctorate of Philosophy there in 2018. She has exhibited in solo and group shows (Higher Degrees) at John Curtin Gallery, Spectrum Project Space and Nyisztor Studio, and is currently a sessional academic in the school of Media, Creative Arts and Social Inquiry at Curtin University, as well as a tutor for the Applecross Senior High School, Gifted and Talented Extension art program.
