'Concrete Reflections' - Ben Sherar

‘Local artist Ben Sherar’s new figurative work in his upcoming exhibition ‘Concrete Reflections’ opening at emerge ART SPACE in Mt Lawley Wed 11 August portrays seemingly random objects such as abandoned shopping trolleys, rubbish dumpsters and light poles glowing in deserted Perth urban nightscapes.

With an intense focus on the subject and attention to detail his work gives a different, strangely disquieting view of scenes we witness every day. The exhibition of new oil paintings explores themes of consumerism and waste and the continual concrete inroads that society has made on once fertile city areas’.
