'In the Moment' - Chloe Tupper & Kathryn Haug

An exhibition of new work by Chloe Tupper and Kathryn Haug combining still life, landscape and portraiture. Both artists seek to capture subjects familiar to themselves within a specific period of time; both in terms of season, time, place, and in terms of colour, light and form. The paintings are made using the Alla Prima method, whereby the painting is made in the ‘first attempt’ completed within one day while the whole surface of the painting is wet. This gives especial significance and clarity to the marks used, and the colours and light of the subject are captured as the artist sees them in the moment.
