Out of the Park: The artists of Robertson Park Artists Studio.

The iconic Robertson Park Artists Studio has been a mainstay of the Perth fine art community for over 20 years. Situated in Robertson Park in Fitzgerald St, West Perth, the 5 artists occupying the studios are all established artists with their own distinctive styles, media and genres. The artists’ works range from realism and figurative to abstract and conceptual.  There are large- and small-scale works, paintings and sculptures.  The studio artists, Graham Hay, Carol Rowling, Christopher McClelland, Frances Dennis and Sarah Jane Marchant, as well as regularly showing individually, gather together annually for a group exhibition. Their work can be found in many public and private collections, both in Australia and overseas, including the Art Gallery of Western Australia. ‘Out of the Park’ is both a literal movement of works out of the confined spaces of the studio into the open spaces of Stala Contemporary and a metaphorical statement about the diversity, conceptual framework and ideas explored within the exhibition.
