Dirt
My works are generally of an organic nature but I usually carve man-made plywood and paint it.
"Dirt" made me think of soil, then roots and trees. This carving is made from a solid chunk of smoked oak and has an almost natural grown feel to it with both rhythm and tension.
It grew from the dirt.
